Dear Fellow Concerned Travelers:

Won’t you join us?

I have been on the road for most of my life. I was totally inspired a few years back when I first saw hotels adopting progressive linen policies that support our environment.

…And I have been discouraged most every day travel since, when I see that hotels may post a good show, but they certainly have some work to do, even in adhering to their own published policies.

How many times have I left my towel hanging on a rack (signifying “I will use this again”), only to see it replaced?

How many of my bath mats ever see but one use?

How many facecloths does one man need, anyway?

Our cause here is simple. Please take a stand for our environment when you hit the road, by being a demanding customer around hotel linen policies.

When traveling, team members support our cause in the following ways:

Observing all posted hotel linen policies

Requesting that their hotel(s) adopt a linen policy, if one is not in place

Reporting to management if hotel staff has changed linens without their approval.

We’re excited to have you as part of our team, and we hope spread awareness by inviting your friends to join. Rock on Green Travelers!

Yours Sincerely,

Ralph Farris

Ralph H. Farris Sr. was born on May 4, 1928. He died on August 19, 2006.

My dad had the most glorious voice I have ever heard. And this was the piece he was best known for. He and my mom Nancy made quite the team.

I’m guessing that this was recorded somewhere in Massachusetts by our dear friend Dick Arscott, at some very lucky couple’s wedding.

We love you, Pop. You are with us, always.

And here’s a serious blast from the past, for those who knew him back in the day… http://www.boychoirs.org/berkshire/berk009.html

Inspired by my work at St. Paul’s Chapel (“The Miracle Church”) in 2001-’02, my string quartet arrangement of the National Anthem of The United States of America was completed on August 25, 2002. Written for ETHEL, the arrangement is performed here by the four original members of the group.

ETHEL premiered the piece on September 4, 2002 at Joe’s Pub in New York City.

It was next performed on September 11, 2002:

By the Saint Paul’s String Quartet at the Ground Zero 1st anniversary memorial ceremony

By ETHEL, in Berlin, Germany, at the House of World Cultures

ETHEL continues to perform the piece to this day.
